What to buy your lover this Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is tough. From the "I don't believe in Valentine's Day" claims (do they really mean it??) to secret crushes and new relationships, it's hard to know the right thing to buy for that special someone. We've put together some pro flower tips to help you navigate Valentine's Day this year.

Long term lovers

Let's start with the easy one. You've been together for a while, you know they like Valentine's Day and they have pretty traditional taste in flowers. Just stick to the classic red roses and you can't go wrong. Our florists have each included some red roses just for Valentine's Day so we'll be delivering these beauties all over Melbourne.

New Relationship

So you've been dating for a little while, you really like them but don't want to scare them off with an over the top display of romance. There are plenty of ways to show you're keen without making them run a mile. Why don't you go for something understated and classic with a twist like a posy of mixed roses?

Secret Crush

Have you've found your special someone but they don't know it yet? What better way to let them in on the secret than with a beautiful gesture on Valentine's Day? What've you got to lose right!? Let's not get carried away though. We suggest going for something small and subtle like a single rose.

The quirky non traditionalist

Are you in a relationship with someone who likes to do things a little bit differently? Stay well clear of traditional red roses with this one and go for something modern and whimsical, with seasonal local flowers hand-selected by the florist.

"I don't believe in Valentine's Day"

You've made this mistake before. Your partner goes on and on about how they think Valentine's Day is a mainstream money making machine that they don't wish to be a part of and so you respect their views and don't get them anything. Cue secret disappointment. Sometimes it's better to play it safe and get them something, just in case. It's probably best to avoid flowers and stick to a gift that's more practical like a house plant or candle.

Buying for a bloke

Guys like flowers too! Most men we speak to tell us how nice it would be to receive some once in a while, so what better time than Valentine's Day?! Native flowers are the most popular with guys and every one of our florists has their own native bouquet in store, so no matter where you are in Melbourne, we've got you covered.

On a bit of a budget

Can't afford a box of red roses? Don't sweat it, flowers of any size will show how much you care. It's the thought that counts after all! We have plenty of romantic bouquets for under $50 delivering all over Melbourne.

It's always best to pre-order your Valentine's Day flowers so that you can guarantee you get the best blooms. Our Valentine's Day orders will be closing the day before on Tuesday 13 February so order soon to get the pick of the bunch!
